1. grace starr
what went well - the homepage immediately tells the viewer what grace starr is like: very pink, very girly. there are lots of photos which all link together - pink, lollipops etc. also the homepage has very current news on it. it's good that as soon as she does an interview/releases tour dates, they are the first things you see.
even better if - if you click on the audio play buttons on the 'media' page, some don't play music and some play a random song by a male rapper. there are some grammatical errors on the 'about grace' page.
2. nicholas alexander
what went well - the background of the homepage has lovely, striking colours. the homepage includes current news about nicholas. the 'first noticed' video on the 'about' page is a very good and clever idea.
even better if - there are some grammar errors that could be fixed on the 'about' page. on the 'tour' page there are pictures of other artists which need to be deleted.
3. encoded
what went well - the countdown on the homepage is a great widget. the colour scheme of the website matches the photos well.
even better if - there are obvious and consistent grammar errors on the 'band' page which need to be fixed. there is a countdown that is already at 0 on their 'tour' page.
4. cosmo
what went well - the huge picture fits well with the layout. it is a good idea to have his twitter all over the front page of the website to attract fans immediately. the tour dates page is VERY cool and well made.
even better if - some pages are completely blank e.g. 'meet cosmo' and 'contact'.
5. hybrid beauty
what went well - there is an element of mystery on the home page. nothing is told about the album and i like that. it increases anticipation and tension for the album. the idea behind their photoshoot is creative.
even better if - i want to see MORE photos! updates of what they've been up to e.g. interviews, teasers etc. would be great.
6. alex echo
what went well - the banner at the top is really nice and so is the slideshow of pictures on the homepage.
even better if - it is very plain and takes about a minute to go through the whole website.
7. james couleur
what went well - the background picture is very creative and fits well with the layout. the live twitter feed is a very good idea and keeps fans up to date. the gallery is chock full of pictures which is brilliant. the merchandise is my favourite out of everyone's - very creative and clever.
even better if - there's a lot missing e.g. the teaser trailer isn't on the front page where it says it will be and the album and tour pages are empty.
