our final 3 track choices are as follows:
1. fast in my car - paramore
why this would be good: it is a fun, upbeat song that we had lots of visual ideas for. no one else in the year had chosen anything in the rock/alternative genre so it would be a different and exciting idea.
what could go wrong: paramore are such an iconic band with a very well-known image, thanks to their lead singer, hayley. we would have to stray completely away from this image and recreate an entire female-fronted band.
2. feeling good - nina simone
why this would be good: it would be the most interesting to do: a bluesy, jazz song set in a dusky 40s bar with smoke, cocktail dresses and a soulful singer. our made-up band would be a soul/jazz band, which is a very different interesting idea.
what could go wrong: it is extremely hard to emulate simone's soul in the face of seventeen/eighteen year old schoolkids. we would struggle to make it look realistic and doing it justice.
3. no scrubs - bastille
why this would be good: there are a mixture of voices: a male and female singer are present so would include more input than others with a solo singer.
what could go wrong: the song is quite slow and the video could end up being a bit dull. also the singer of bastille has a very recognisable, distinguishable voice so it would be hard to pretend like someone else was singing it.
